When purchasing plus size fashions online, the only way to ensure perfect fit when you can't try it on is to know your measurements.
So get yourself a tape measure (preferably a cloth one) and a friend to take your measurements:
Stand in front of a full length mirror. Take measurements undressed or in lightweight clothes. Pull the tape measure snug, but not too tight. Keep your arms at your side and have a friend take the measurements, for the most accurate results. Stand up straight, nice and tall.
Measure Bust:
Measure around the shoulder blades, under the armpits and over the fullest part of the bust.
Measure Waist:
Find your natural waistline and measure.
Finally, measure Hip:
Measure the fullest part of the hip (usually about 7-9 inches below the waist.
After you have taken your measurements, keep them in a safe place and refer to them when shopping online with the sizing chart provided by the merchant on their site.
This one tip will cut down on the number of disappointments when your garments arrive. Sign up for the Hips & Curves Newsletter!
